Ingenium was hired by the City of Columbus, Mississippi to prepare Infrastructure Improvement Plans for the widening of 6th Street North and 18th Avenue North. In addition, plans for two new roads (Moore’s Creek Boulevard and Creekside Way) were developed along with a bridge that spanned Moore’s Creek. The new infrastructure serves a private 11.62-acre mixed use development known as Moore’s Creek Crossing and contains 125,000 SF of commercial and hospitality use. In order to fund the project, Ingenium assisted the City in procurement of a $2.4 million grant from the United States Department of Commerce – Economic Development Administration.
The specific services rendered for this project included a Feasibility Study, Traffic Impact Analysis, Hydrology and Flood Study, Comprehensive Roadway and Site Engineering Construction Plans, Construction Administration, and EDA Grant Management. The Design Plans also included a Traffic Signal Plan, Structural Bridge/Retaining Wall Plans, Utility Extension Plans, and Landscape/Irrigation Plans.
Additionally, Ingenium was hired by the developer to prepare the Master Plans for the Moore’s Creek Crossing Development including the design for three hotels (Fairfield Inn & Suites, Courtyard by Marriott, and Hampton Inn & Suites) and a Renasant Bank located within the development.
